Would love to talk to a film expert about how — as we all know! — superhero movies are very popular. Why is that, and how has that changed over time? How do these movies get people into the theater and keep them spending. What's the goal now — Start new franchises? Introduce new IP? Keep rebooting things? Sell toys? Create parodies? Garner prestige?
I'm especially interested in how there seems to be a superhero movie aimed at every demographic made, which we're seeing play out in rapid succession this year thanks to the strikes: Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Superman, Fantastic Four, The Toxic Avenger — all aimed at different demographics in my opinion, but for the most part, money-printing machines.
