Hello! I've noticed that it doesn't seem like there are many "hangout" shows these days. I'm defining that as shows about friends hanging out. Friends, New Girl and Cheers would be obvious examples of the hangout shows of the past.
Why is that? Is it that people are still watching those shows? Is it that many new shows have tried but failed to appeal to that big of an audience? Do studios not want to take risks on those?
